AVI-1854 has over 38 years of experience in aviation, including thirteen years as a U.S. Navy pilot. He is qualified in transport-category aircraft, and has supervised operational aviation units in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. In the U.S. Navy, he had wartime experience in aircraft carrier operations, commanded a remote island-based unit, and gained extensive experience in aircraft maintenance, aircrew training and scheduling, and operations management.
