REC-1687 has been a consultant to government, commercial, and educational institutions on matters of recreation management. He has consulted with public agencies on staff training and park planning, designed commercial recreation parks, and developed internet classes on park and recreation management for several universities. He serves on a county Parks and Recreation Commission and a local YMCA Board of Management. He received a Dedicated Service Award from the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association and two Meritorious Service Awards from the Resort and Commercial Recreation Association. REC-1687 is currently an assistant professor of parks and recreation management. He teaches courses on ecotourism, community and commercial recreation management, and recreation area and facility design, among others.
