Dispute Resolution Expert. DIS-1425 practiced labor and employment law at a prominent San Francisco law firm from 1967 to 1993, becoming a partner in charge of the firms labor group in 1976. He litigated wage and hour matters in the courts and before state and federal administrative agencies, and he advised employers on wage-hour matters. In the mid to late1970s, he was lead counsel for employers and employer associations in two major cases challenging the enforceability of newly issued California Wage Orders; the cases were ultimately resolved in the California Supreme Court. Before attaining his law degree, DIS-1425 worked as a wage-hour investigator for the U.S. Department of Labor, examining the application of white-collar exemptions under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
